  • Stories for Life

Publicado por Elora Montserrat en 12 de septiembre, 2020

Once upon a time there was a little girl that touched the world with her little toes with every step. Her eyes wide open absorbed the good and the bad and the questions that made everything possible and extraordinary.

Because life was made of stardust,

dreams and wishes,

moments and glimpses of other worlds.

Made of everything she was.

Made of everything she could.

Made of everything she needed to be… to shine.

But the little girl didn’t know that this world

was also made of shadows and dark alleys,

tears and sorrow,

pain and hurt,

made of “impossible”,

“should’s” and “don't(s)”,

made of everything she could not be, or was.

And with every word she learned,

a “knowing” she forgot.

And with every step she took,

the further away she walked from her truth.

But that little girl had to grow.

And this time she grew up faster than ever before.

Many lifetimes of lessons and “forgets” brought her here.

Secret agreements and untold mysteries.

And even though she knew.

And even though she was.

Would need to spend a lifetime to “be” again.

To be the shine in a world of shades.

Then the little girl realised

that the more she left behind

and the more she remembered

the more invisible she became.

She was just too late…

or too early...

to be the change she was meant to be.

The world was lost following flashy lights and bright neon signs. Filled with broken promises of untenable happiness.

Absorbed, distracted, sunk in screens that became the reality of a world fuelled by disconnection.

And there, in those little boxes, away from each other chasing a holy grail that was nothing more than a false prophet, we crumbled and became fragmented.

Blinded by our need to fill the void of our emptiness, not able to see the difference between an original or a counterfeit. We looked for quick results, self gratification, consumption was the priority and nothing else matter. Indoctrinated by the religion of “a happy pill” that is never enough and the more you take the more you need.

And in this world she was meant to shine and be the light she was… not to be seen.

Dimmed by the competition of "reality".

Belonging to a world she did not fit in.

She sat quietly in her living room looking at the green hills and the mist of the river in the early morning. She held her hands together with the hope to see the spark she lost somewhere on the way. And there it was, just enough to ignite her heart and soul… to shine again.

But in that same moment, she also realised, that the little spark wasn’t strong enough to be seen. To be “the change” to transform the world. And with that realisation came the knowing that she would need to set her world on fire to burn so strong that even if the light could not be seen the heat could melt the shades of blindness.

She bowed in respect and surrendered

because she knew that there was no way back...

but a choice.

And that she could turn into ashes

if she burned too hot.

She took a deep breath and looked up.

And looked down.

And stared at the green hills in front of her showing the journey ahead.

And as she did, her heart light up with the bluest flame you have ever seen.

And the fear  for the journey ahead faded away.

At that moment, the little girl realised,

that you can’t burn what’s made of fire.

And she was made of blue stars.
