Poem: Boomerang
I walked away through a forest of silence
Were your shadow lingered behind every stone I found in my path
I was lost with no direction
in a waiting room I thought was home
waiting for my ticket number to be called
But the days went by and silence grew
Like an ivy made of tears and untold truths
So in the forest of silence I learned to exist
until the day it’s thickness didn’t let me breathe.
But in that dark cold space of loneliness
I found my own reflection looking at me again
Pointing at the fire exit of your spell.
And in the blue sky I found the rhythm to dance again
Next to the fountain where I bathe my body out of your scent
Where I licked my wounds under the sun
And transmute my frustration into poems
so I could let them go.
And the world kept spinning
and life went on
And the forest of silence was filled with music and fun
Must have been one of those moments when I danced with my soul
That you smelt my happiness from behind your wall.
And like a boomerang you came back to leave again
Making the forest of silence grow at my expense
Feed by the promises that your actions will take away
And the hope that this time would be different
But never came.
Now your hunger brings you back
Even do at the door there is a “closed” sign.
You seem to also forget the terms and conditions
And the rules of engagement of this world of mine.
Or you are in...
or you’re out.
But boomerangs are only good for hunting.... and I’m not prey
Or to play with your dog... and I’m no slave.
You can choke on your silence
For what I know
But I set that forest on fire a long time ago.
